What's new in September 2026
News and Improve, a new Home, one Assignments page, line managers, a page for each material, rebuilt learning paths, and the Enlytning Agent.
The headline is News and Improve. Enlytning now watches UK regulators for you, tells you which of your policies a change affects, and helps you update them. We've also rebuilt Home, brought every assignment into one place, and made the app faster and easier to find your way around.
News and Improve: stay ahead of regulatory change
Keeping policies up to date usually means checking regulator websites, working out what changed, and hunting through documents for the wording that needs to change. Enlytning now does most of that work for you.
News: the updates that matter to you
News is a feed of regulatory updates picked for your organisation.
- More regulators covered: News follows HMRC, the ICO, Acas, and UK legislation, plus sources for your industry, such as the Gambling Commission, Ofsted, and GOV.UK statutory guidance from the DfE, Ofqual, DHSC, and DfT. Home Office guidance is available if you turn it on.
- Relevance built in: Enlytning checks each update against your industry and what you do before it reaches your feed, so you see much less noise and far fewer duplicates.
- Plain-English summaries: Every update tells you what changed, when it comes into force, how serious it is (high, medium, or low), and why it matters to you.
- Linked to your policies: Each update shows which of your published policies it may affect. Filter the feed to show only updates that affect your policies.
- You choose the sources: Turn sources on or off in Settings > News Sources. Enlytning starts you with the sources that suit your industry. See Choose your news sources.
- Set your jurisdiction and industry: News only shows updates for your organisation's jurisdiction, and uses your industry to decide which updates apply to you. Set both in Settings > Organisation, under Industries and jurisdictions.
- Search: Search across every update.
Improve: from news to a better policy
Improve turns those updates into a to-do list of recommendations for your policies.
- See exactly what to change: Each recommendation shows the affected policy, the wording involved, and why Enlytning flagged it.
- Let Enlytning draft the fix: Select Auto fix to get suggested new wording. Review it, then add it to your policy draft. Nothing is published until you publish the policy.
- Work your way: Group recommendations by news update or by policy, and filter by severity or type.
- Keep a record: Resolve or dismiss each recommendation. Enlytning keeps the full history of who did what and when.
- Nothing covers it yet? When an update affects an area that none of your policies cover, go straight to Studio to draft a new policy.
- Housekeeping: Improve also flags broken links and unfilled placeholders in your published policies.
A weekly summary in your inbox
Admins and Owners get a weekly recommendations email every Monday morning whenever there are open recommendations to review. The sidebar also shows a count of open recommendations next to Improve.
Plan availability
News and Improve are available on plans that include them. To find out more, select Support at the bottom of the sidebar, or see Manage billing and plans.
A new home for everyone
Home now shows what matters to you, based on your role.
- Admins see compliance at a glance: what's overdue, what's due this week, who needs a nudge, and quick ways to invite, create, and assign. Small trend lines show whether things are improving.
- Managers see their team first: completion, overdue work, and what's due this week. Switch between your direct reports and everyone below you.
- Learners see their next step straight away, with a short list of priorities and recently completed work.
- Content creators can pick up where they left off. Home also flags content that needs attention, such as unpublished changes or empty drafts.
Easier to find your way around
We've tidied up the sidebar and given a few things clearer names.
- Learn is now My assignments: Everything you've been asked to complete is here, with an overdue count and tabs to filter.
- Up next: A new list in the sidebar shows what's waiting for you.
- Workspace is now Materials: Find your courses, policies, and surveys in Materials, next to Media Library under Workspace.
- Manage: Admins have a Manage section with Assignments, Learning Paths, and Reports.
- Signals: News and Improve sit together under Signals.
- Settings and Support: Both have moved to the bottom of the sidebar, so they're always one click away.
Old bookmarks and links in past emails still work. They take you to the new place automatically.
Assignments, all in one place
Admins have a new Assignments page that lists every piece of assigned work across your organisation, for both individual materials and learning paths.
- Switch between Outstanding, Overdue, Due in 7 days, All current, and Ended schedules.
- Filter, group by person, and unassign several people at once.
- Open any assignment to see its full history in one panel.
Overdue and completion figures now follow the same rules across Home, Reports, and lists.
Recurring assignments (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) now reopen automatically at the start of each new period. See Set recurring deadlines.
Line managers
Admins can now give people a line manager. Build your reporting lines in Settings > Hierarchy by dragging people under their manager, or set someone's Line Manager when you edit them.
Managers then see their team on Home, with completion, overdue work, and what's due this week, and can switch between their direct reports and everyone below them. They also get Team Reports, and can ask the Enlytning Agent how their team is doing. They only see the people who report to them. See Reports.
One page for each material
Every course, policy, and survey now has its own page, with tabs for Assignees, Insights, Content, Versions, and Activity. You no longer need to jump between screens to see who has been assigned something and how they're doing.
The separate Manage > Material list has joined the Published tab in Materials, which now shows how many people each material is assigned to. Assign a material from its page with Assign. See Understand materials, Assign published materials, and Interpret material insights.
Learning paths, rebuilt
- Browse your paths as cards, with search and a filter by author.
- Build paths with a new editor: add, duplicate, and drag steps into order, set score conditions, and add remedial material for anyone who needs another go.
- Fully edit any path that hasn't been assigned yet.
- Learners always see a clear next step after each result, whether that's a retry, remedial material, or the next step in the path.
See Build a learning path and Manage learning paths.
Meet the Enlytning Agent
Ask AI is now the Enlytning Agent. Open it with Ask Enlytning at the bottom of the page. As well as answering questions about your courses and policies, it can look things up in your organisation's data and carry out tasks for you.
- Ask for a compliance summary: what's overdue, your completion rate, and how many people have been active in the last 30 days.
- Get reports by person or by course, covering assignments, overdue work, completion rates, and average scores.
- Check where someone is with their training: what they've completed, what's due soon, and what's overdue.
- Look up people and groups, recent audit log activity, and your plan and usage.
- See your Improve recommendations and why each one was raised.
- Invite people, create groups, add or remove people from groups, and suspend or reactivate accounts.
- Update wording in up to 10 courses and policies at once. You review every proposed change and choose which to apply, and the changes are saved as drafts.
- Raise a support ticket, or check whether support has replied to one you've sent.
- Attach images and PDFs to your questions. Conversations are saved, so you can pick them up again later.
It asks for your approval before it changes anything or raises a ticket, and it only shows people what they're allowed to see. Learners can check their own training, ask about the courses and policies assigned to them, and contact support. Admins and Owners can use everything above.
The Enlytning Agent is available on plans that include the AI assistant.
Surveys
- Each survey has a dedicated Results tab, by version and round. See Review survey results.
- Past rounds stay visible even after everyone has been unassigned.
- Exports now include free-text answers and keep your rating scales in order.
- Anonymous responses stay anonymous, including to Admins.
Saved signatures
Learners can save a signature once and reuse it when acknowledging policies. Every acknowledgement keeps its own copy, so updating your saved signature never changes a record you've already signed.
A clearer audit log
The audit log now records more of what happens in your organisation: role and manager changes, publishing, invitations, group changes, settings, exports, and more. Times show in your local time zone, and names link to the person or item involved. Each material also has its own Activity tab.
Smaller improvements
- Pages load noticeably faster, and links start loading as you hover over them.
- Enlytning remembers your choice of grid or table view, and your chosen tabs.
- Upload larger files reliably, with a progress bar.
- Upload up to 20 knowledge documents at once.
- Archiving a policy now turns off its share links.
- Back takes you to the page you came from.
- A clear message appears if you lose your connection, with a button to retry.
- Learners are told when a material they're working on has been updated.
- Raise support tickets from your account settings, even if you're not part of an organisation yet.
Retired
- AI Insights has been removed. The new Home, Reports, and the Enlytning Agent cover the same ground.
- Checklist units can no longer be added to policies. Your existing checklists keep working.
Security and reliability
We've made a large number of security, privacy, and accuracy improvements behind the scenes. That includes a new cookie consent banner, which asks your permission before we use analytics.
