Manage learning paths

Assign, duplicate, rename, unassign, and delete learning paths.

This reference covers the management actions available to Admins and Owners after a learning path has been saved.

Manage > Learning Paths shows each path as a card. Select a card to open the path’s page, or hover over it and open its actions menu. On the path’s page, Assign, Edit path, and Actions sit in the header.

Assign a learning path

Choose the learners and deadline for the saved path.

Go to Manage > Learning Paths.

Open the path and select Assign, or open the card’s actions menu and select Manage > Assign.

Select users, groups, or both.

Choose No deadline or Single deadline.

Select Confirm.

Review the learner count and dates, then select Confirm again.

Learning paths do not support recurring deadlines.

Duplicate a learning path

Create a separate copy when you need to change the structure or reuse it for another audience.

Open the path’s actions menu.

Select Duplicate.

Review the path name and select Duplicate.

The copy includes the steps and conditions but not assignments. Enlytning adds a numeric suffix to the title, such as “Annual Compliance (1)”.

Edit a learning path

Before a path has been assigned, reopen the Path Builder to change its title, description, steps, conditions, and remedial materials.

Open the path’s actions menu.

Select Edit path.

Make the changes and select Save path.

The edit updates the existing path rather than creating a copy.

Locked after first assignment

After any assignment has existed, including one that was later removed, the steps and conditions are locked to protect learning history. Duplicate the path when you need a different structure.

Rename an assigned learning path

Change the title without changing the path’s steps or conditions.

Open the path’s actions menu.

Select Edit title.

Enter the new title and save.

Editing the title does not change the locked path structure.

Review or remove assignments

Open the path and select the Assignees tab to view the assigned learners, their due dates, their current steps, and their progress. Select a learner to open their assignment detail. You can also select Manage > View assignees in the card’s actions menu.

To remove one learner, open the row’s actions menu on the Assignees tab and select Quick unassign.

To remove several learners:

Select Manage > Unassign in the card’s actions menu. The option appears only while the path has assignees.

Select the learners to remove.

Select Confirm.

Review the learner count and confirm the unassignment.

Unassigning removes the learning path from the selected learners.

Delete a learning path

Delete a path only after removing its in-progress assignments.

Open the path’s actions menu.

Select Delete.

Confirm the deletion.

In-progress assignments

You cannot delete a path while any learner has an in-progress assignment. Unassign those learners first.

Deleting removes the path from active learning paths and marks its assignments as legacy. Learners cannot continue the path.
