Archive and restore materials

Archive materials you no longer need and restore them when needed.

Creators who authored or collaborate on a material, plus Admins and Owners, can archive it. Archiving removes it from your active materials and disables assignments without deleting it. Restore the material when you need it again.

Archive a material

Archive from the material’s Danger settings.

Open the material in Materials.

Go to Settings.

Select Danger in the settings sidebar.

Under Material status, select Archive material.

Select Archive material again to confirm.

The material moves to the Archived tab in Materials.

Archiving a shared policy

Archiving a policy that has public share links revokes every active link in the same step. Recipients lose access immediately and see a revoked-link message instead of the policy. The confirmation states how many links it will revoke before you commit.

Revocation cannot be undone, so restoring the policy does not reactivate those links. Create a new link when you need to share a restored policy again.

Archiving is not reversible for share links

Restoring a material brings back the material, not its links. Revoke a single link instead of archiving if you only need to withdraw one recipient’s access.

Restore an archived material

The same roles can restore an archived material: a Creator who authored or collaborates on it, an Admin, or an Owner. Open the archived material before returning to Danger settings.

Go to Materials.

Open Archived.

Open the material you want to restore.

Go to Settings > Danger.

Under Material status, select Restore material.

Select Restore material again to confirm.

The material returns to your active materials, and Admins or Owners can assign it again. Share links revoked by archiving stay revoked.

Choose archive or delete

Archive a material when you may need it again. Deletion is permanent.
