Path Overview
Create guided learning journeys by combining multiple materials into structured sequences.
Learning Paths let you group multiple materials—courses, policies, and surveys—into a structured sequence that learners must complete in order. They're ideal for onboarding programs, certification tracks, and compliance training that requires multiple steps.
Why Use Learning Paths
Instead of assigning materials individually and hoping learners complete them in the right order, Learning Paths enforce a structured journey:
- Sequential completion: Learners must finish each step before moving to the next.
- Conditional logic: Add rules that redirect learners based on their performance.
- Progress tracking: Monitor how learners advance through the entire path.
- Unified deadlines: Set a single deadline for the complete journey.
Common Use Cases
| Use Case | Example Path |
|---|---|
| Employee onboarding | Company Overview → IT Security Policy → Benefits Enrollment Survey |
| Compliance certification | Regulatory Training → Assessment → Policy Acknowledgment |
| Role-specific training | Safety Fundamentals → Equipment Operation → Practical Assessment |
| Leadership development | Management Basics → Communication Skills → Team Building |
The Learning Paths Page
Access your learning paths at Manage > Learning Paths. This page displays all paths with:
- Search: Find paths by name.
- Filter by Author: See paths created by a specific admin.
- Path details: View step count, assignment count, and creation date.
Creating a Learning Path
- Navigate to Manage > Learning Paths.
- Click Create.
- Use the Path Builder to configure your path.
- Save when ready.
Paths Are Immutable
Once saved, a learning path's steps and conditions cannot be changed. You can only edit the name and description. Plan your path structure carefully before saving.
Assigning a Learning Path
After creating a path, assign it to learners:
- From Manage > Learning Paths, select a path.
- Click Assign in the action bar.
- Select users or groups.
- Configure the deadline (no deadline or single deadline).
- Confirm the assignment.
Unlike regular material assignments, learning paths only support:
- No deadline: Learners complete at their own pace.
- Single deadline: One due date for the entire path.
Recurring deadlines are not available for learning paths.
Learner Experience
When assigned a learning path, learners see:
- The path appears in their Learn queue.
- They can only access the current step—future steps are locked.
- After completing a step, the next one unlocks automatically.
- If conditions are set, they may be redirected based on their score.
- The path is complete when all steps are finished.
Managing Learning Paths
